The Ultraman World Championships have come and gone. I can not begin to thank those who have supported me to get to the start and finish of such a challenging race.
Carson, Madilynn, Aunt Stacy, and Dave for being the sunshine needed to chase away any cloud.
A Step Ahead Prosthetics for making the most custom prosthetics needed to get me through
a 6.2mile swim, 261mile bike and a 52.3mile run.
Matt Caines, my coach, trainer, nutritionalist and swimming expert, thank you for building me into the best athlete possible.
Elise, Chad, Sammie and Clair....the crew of crews!
Jane Botkus, Sheryl Cobbs and Gary Wang for letting us be a part of the true Ultraman family.
To all family and friends....thank you for always being there.
This years Ultraman was full of excitement from the start of the swim....
Remember Nemo....Dora's words of wisdom...."just keep swimming".
And my coach, Matt who swam in Long Island at Lifetime Fitness the entire time it took me to swim my 6.2miles.
The transition from the water was as smooth as possible because my children were waiting at the waters edge to help their mom out of the water and onto the bike to head off to the top of the volcano.
The ride was nothing but up up and up making it to the finishline for that stage with 4 seconds to spare.
Day 2 started off with a refreshing ride leading to more challenging climbs followed by a missed turn causing us to ride 30+miles in the wrong direction. After being lost in the cold and wind for hours all I wanted to do is see my children.
Day 3 started off on a 52.3mile run and by mile six my mental game was gone, I wanted to be with my children. After a surprise visit from my little crew I know they were what I needed to get to the finishline of the 3rd day.
